For the cake:
2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened

⅓ cup (80ml) sour cream or yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract

4 cups (500g) powdered sugar
¼ cup strawberry puree or jam

1. Preheat oven:
To 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans (or line with parchment paper).
2. Prepare the batter:
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Mix in vanilla, milk, and sour cream.
Gently fold in mashed strawberries.
